Hungry for More Rachel

https://www.amazon.com/Hungry-More-Romantic-Fantasies-Women-ebook/dp/B07H4668S5?tag=dondes-20
So, when I searched for Rachel Kramer Bussel's new/upcoming/already available(?) anthology "Hungry for More" at Amazon, I obviously searched Hungry for More Rachel. I thought about cutting that part from the link, when linking to it (like RIGHT NOW), but you know what? I like it. I think we're all hungry for more Rachel.

The news I'm trying to bring you is this: if you're planning to buy Hungry for More anyway (and, let's face it, you know you are), now is the best time to do it. Because if you purchase your Kindle copy before the official August 12th release date, you can be entered to win a $100 Amazon gift card!

And in case I mangled any of that, you can/should check out this link about the promotion: http://hungryformorebook.tumblr.com/post/92735243614/win-a-100-amazon-gift-card-when-you-pre-order-the

Again, here's the link to Hungry for More (which is subtitled a "Romantic" something something, but I'm telling you right now, my story Happy Endings, about a middle-aged business woman and her first lesbian experience with masseuse is... not so much a romance. More of a fantasy. More of something I could really go for right now, even though it's 10 in the morning and... well, who cares what time it is? Any time's a good time for a happy ending):

Learning to Drown by Sommer Marsden

I remember Sommer saying this book was meaningful to her, so I'm featuring it even though it's sooooo old. Like, 2011? That was a million years ago!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NEUSJW?tag=dondes-20
btw, Learning to Drown is hella hard to find on Amazon. I'm guessing it's been adult-filtered because, oh no, a bum! So I'm putting the link front and centre, RIGHT HERE, so you can actually find it.

Ember is into the whole abduction scenario. She tries and tries to coach her boyfriend Damien in the fine art of being her abductor and sexual tyrant. It's not working. One night, while locked in his truck's tool box, she's towed from Damien's property. Lucas Crow, freelance repo man and all around growly dominant, rescues her from her self-imposed prison. He even takes her home, feeds her and gets her cuffs off when it becomes evident that Damien is not coming to her rescue.

Taken with Ember and her story, Lucas gives her a choice. Stay in her unhappy relationship and play 'games' (basically dominating Damien by dictating his behavior) or stay with him as his 'captive' and learn what true surrender is. It's like learning to drown, giving up to get where you want to be. Ember is eerily taken with this man and his quiet and sure ways. The more she discovers the more she wants to discover. Like his history, his back story, where that sexy scar in his eyebrow came from.

When Ember meets Matthew Crow, she's not sure she can do what might be expected of her. Matthew's everything his brother isn't. He's mouthy, petulant, younger and spoiled. And he informs her on the way to a repo job, that they share women–he and Lucas. And they're going to share her–and he can't wait to get his taste.

Ember is torn. Stay and get to experience more of the sexual talents of Lucas and Matthew Crow or leave. Does she stay and learn to drown and maybe experience the erotic levels she truly craves, or does she keep struggling and never learn the joy of submission and surrender?

Excerpt:

When that lid swung back, revealing a blue-black sky dotted with pinpricks of white stars, I cried. I imagined this is what it was like to be pulled from the ocean in a riptide right before you started sucking water into your lungs. A very big man gazed in at me, saying nothing at all. My body clenched tight like a fist. I didn’t think it was possible to be colder than I was right at that moment. His mouth moved but all I heard were my own hysterical sobs. I was inexplicably terrified now that I had been saved.

“What?” My teeth chattered louder. I couldn‘t hear him over my own clicking jaws. “One more time,” I said.

“I said, come here. Take my hand.” And then he simply took my bound hands in his. He pulled me to my feet. My body balked at unclenching. It hurt to unbend myself.

“Green, eh?” He smiled. When my knees gave out, he caught me. Effortlessly. As if I were some tiny boneless rag doll instead of long and leggy and completely awkward at the moment. I realized he meant my bra and panties.

“I was feeling spring like.” My body melded to him instantly. He could have been Jack the Ripper and it wouldn’t have mattered. He was warm.

“Too bad for you it’s like twelve degrees,” he said. “But I’m digging the panties. And the thought behind them.” The truck rocked when he walked to the edge of the bed. When he jumped to the ground, I prayed again. Please do not let the large slightly scary man drop me. My legs are bound. So are my hands. All my bones will break. Please let him be athletic. Amen.

He landed easily but I huddled closer. “Freezing,“ I said. I yawned. I was so tired.

The stranger smoothed his hand over my ass, thumbed the back of my thigh. His fingers stroked my lower back. His hands tried to warm me but there was too much of me bare to warm. My body responded, though sluggishly, when he palmed my bottom. His heat penetrated me. “F-f-freezing,” I said.

“I’m working on it. Let’s get you in the cab. I have some overalls in the back and I think a spare jacket. The heat’s on full blast. And then…” He laughed again. It was a nice only slightly terrifying laugh.

“Then?”

“We’ll deal with the cuffs.”

I rubbed my hands together as well as I could while cuffed. I buried my face against his blue jacket and willed myself to vanish. To time travel back and decide tonight was not the night for the abduction game. He opened the cab and the light winked on. His eyes were dark brown and warm. Laugh lines crowded the corners, stubble peppered his chin. Dirty blond hair and a sharp nose. “I’m still here, “ I said. Beyond embarrassed, beyond mortified.

He pulled the knots and freed my legs, face intent like he was working a puzzle. “Yep. Sorry, it wasn’t a dream, girl. Just you and me. Your knight in shining armor.” He smirked and left me on the cracked vinyl seat. The heater poured warm air over me. I put my hands out to soak it up.

“But you are my knight in shining armor,” I said. It was safe to say it because he wasn‘t there to hear.

When he got back he looked less sure of himself. Or maybe he was just freaked out by finding prisoner me locked up like a heroine in a bad horror movie. “Did you steal me?“ I blurted. God help me, my panties were wet. I didn’t realize until I blurted it out, but there it was. And what was there to stop him from seeing that if he chose to look? Nothing at all. The panties certainly were not going to shield me from those eyes.

Stupid abduction fixation. What a time for it to rear its head. Now. With nothing between his gaze and my truth but a pair of lime green panties. A very real urge to kiss him arose. Followed closely by the need to have him kiss me.

“Technically, yes. Does that flip your switch?” He wrapped me in a thick wool blanket. “Better than the overalls while you still have those on.” He nodded to the shiny silver cuffs holding me captive. “So back to our conversation, don’t ignore me--does that get you off?”

I studied my fingernails, busted and cracked now from my ordeal. I watched him work bolt cutters over the chain between the cuffs. “A bit. The whole abduction thing is a fantasy kind of thing for me.” Jesus. Why was I telling him this? Easy. He’d asked me and I felt compelled to answer.

He nodded as if it were the most normal thing in the world. “I figured it was something like that. No big deal. Do you possibly want to know my name?” The metal chain parted like warm butter and there I sat in two heavy silver, but separate, bracelets.

“Thank you,” I said. “And yes, I would very much like to know. What is your name? My name is Ember Sullivan.”

He stared at me. “Ember. Nice. Very hot. And I’m sure that is the first time you’ve heard that.” He pulled a pair of overalls from the front seat and tossed them to me. “My name is Lucas. Or Luke if you prefer. And I just took your boyfriend’s truck because he hasn’t been paying and it’s my job. I repo from guys like that.”

Heated Leather Lover by Annabeth Leong

I'm still away. Just surprising a few friends by posting about their books. I yanked this info from All Romance Ebooks. heh:

When Tam Bouie rides into town on her motorcycle, she finds the welcoming committee of her dreams. In a bar called Issues, the beautiful femme Yasmin Miller seems to have been waiting for a butch on a steel horse to sweep her off her feet.

Yasmin has a serious fetish for women in leather and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants—until she discovers that Tam isn’t just passing through. Convinced that their town is too small for the explosive love affair that threatens to ignite, and the possible fallout if it goes sour, Yasmin drops Tam as quickly as she picked her up.

Tam, however, doesn't give up easily, and Yasmin’s resolutions to stay away from her won’t mean a thing if she can’t resist the sexy butch’s heated leather love.

A Romantica® lesbian erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

Excerpt:

Tam Bouie disliked the look of the town right away. Her bike purred down its unnaturally wide main street, and she felt exposed and stared at. The street seemed just as wide and flat as the bare blue Florida sky. Though she’d seen big old live oaks on the highway coming in, the trees on the main drag poked up too thin and skinny to provide much shade. A few people walked from one shop to another, but instead of rushing from air-conditioned building to air-conditioned building as Tam would have on a day like this back home in New England, they ambled as if pushing through water instead of air.

If she stayed here, she would never have any crowd to blend into. The heat would pour down on her one hundred percent of the time. In a town like this there couldn’t be second chances, because literally everyone would know about any failure. Tam had become an expert in starting over but that really wouldn’t work well in a place where she couldn’t change friends or start hanging out at a different club. She didn’t want to admit it but the idea terrified her.

Still, Tam had never been one to shy away from fate. If this town only provided one place to hang out she wanted to see what it was like. Tam leaned her body to the left, turning onto the side street where she’d seen the town’s main watering hole, a place called Issues. Someone had a sense of humor, but she couldn’t help reading the name as a succinct description of her situation.

She shut off the bike and dropped the kickstand with a sigh. The only thing her father had left her when he died was a dilapidated piece of property about three blocks from here. Since she’d just about bankrupted herself taking care of him at the end of his illness, it had seemed like a good idea to give up her Boston apartment and move down. In March in the Northeast, when she had to brave freezing rain practically every time she wanted to ride her bike, it had seemed like a great idea. The plan had sounded even better when she’d seen how much her landlord wanted to raise her rent for the next year’s lease.

Then she’d actually arrived in Florida, which she’d never visited because her dad didn’t like to go back. Try as she might, she couldn’t picture him walking down these empty streets, couldn’t see what role he could have had in this place.

She’d found the property he’d given her and faced a half-rotten pile of boards not quite covered by peeling paint and nesting mosquitoes, but almost completely buried by overzealous fernery. The place wasn’t wired up for air-conditioning, and a junked space heater she had to kick out of the way to open the front door suggested it didn’t have central heat either. Her dad apparently used to run a junk shop out of one half of the place and hadn’t bothered to clean it out before moving to New England with her mother.

Tam had taken a brief look around, her stomach knotting with dismay. Then she had dropped her air mattress in the middle of the dusty living room floor, along with her backpack and a bouquet of flowers she’d foolishly bought to make the place feel welcoming. She’d turned on her heel and gone back outside, where she’d unlocked the back of her U-Haul, retrieved her bike and gone out for a beer.

Issues wasn’t much to look at, but Tam knew from her experience of joints like this that the beer would still be cold and plentiful. With no glamour on offer, a place needed something strong on tap. If Tam got lucky she might even find company.

People in this town apparently got started as soon as possible. It was only early evening but already the parking lot had filled. A little knot of guys smoking by the door of the bar looked Tam up and down, then gave her brief, masculine nods. She returned one of her own, not bothering to suppress her grin of satisfaction. She enjoyed being recognized as one of the guys. It took work to go full butch, but Tam did the job well. She swaggered past them and pushed her way inside.

She meant to grab a beer, pick out a booth in a dark corner, take a seat, and drown her troubles. That plan disappeared when she met the big, dark eyes of the woman seated at the end of the bar.

The Scarlet Bond by Tamsin Flowers

You're reached the blog of Giselle Renarde. Giselle is in the woods this week, but she wants to surprise some of her writer friends by posting about their books while she's away. Here's an excerpt she stole from Tamsin Flowers's site, which she hopes won't look too wonky since that was a Wordpress site and this is Blogger and sometimes things get messed up. Anyway, leave a message after the beep. BEEP!

Studio shotStudio shot

On the run after killing clan leader Etienne Corbeau, beautiful young vampire Willow Jackson finds sanctuary in Miami with her lover, Corbeau’s wife Elouise. But their hard-won freedom can’t last—when Elouise is snatched by a rival vampire clan, Willow is forced to confront a terrifying truth. The only chance to retrieve Elouise lies in raising Etienne from the dead. As his killer, she alone can perform the ritual—but how will her former lover, indeed the very man who made her a vampire, react when he’s resurrected?

Forced to seek help from a lover she can’t trust, attacked by a vampire she created and endangering the life of her mentor, Willow is in a race against time to rescue her soul-mate from the evil Rakim Argent and his clan. Friends become enemies, enemies become lovers and as the situation spins out of control, Willow doesn’t know who to trust…

Excerpt
If the sign on the door said closed, the message didn’t appear to have been taken on board inside Nosferatu’s Bar. In flickering candlelight, amid dancing shadows, four bodies entwined, writhing in time to a throbbing beat that threatened to blast the speakers off the wall. Two women and two men caught up in the drunken moment when dancing turns into something else—something purposeful, elemental, which no longer depends on the music for its rhythm.
But Willow Jackson hadn’t drank any alcohol. She had a thirst of a different nature. She sank her teeth into the tan skin at the base of the blond man’s neck, laughing as the first taste of blood bubbled into her greedy mouth. The man bucked and moaned but she distracted him from the pain of her bite by rubbing a hand across the front of his groin. He was well endowed, growing bigger as she touched. A pair of arms encircled her waist from behind. Small, familiar hands undid the top of her leather shorts. Elouise Day, her vampire lover, had already drunk blood from the blond man’s friend—now she turned her attention to Willow’s pleasure.
Weak from blood loss, the blond staggered back onto a banquette, as his friend slumped down onto the beer-spattered floor. Without losing suction on his neck, Willow released his cock from his pants while Elouise helped her out of her shorts. She straddled the man, wet enough to impale herself on his impressive erection with ease—only at the moment of full penetration did she gasp and lose her grip on his throat. Immediately Elouise’s mouth attached to the wound in the man’s neck as she swooped onto the banquette beside them. Bereft of her blood source, Willow scrambled to pull up Elouise’s T-shirt so she could latch onto her lover’s breasts instead. Beneath them, the man grunted, thrusting his hips as Willow pumped up and down on his cock.
She sucked hard on Elouise’s nipples, pulling at them with her teeth in the full knowledge the pain would make her lover bite down harder on the man’s neck. She watched a trail of blood trickle down his chest from where Elouise tore at his flesh as she silenced his scream by placing one of her hands across his mouth. If he’d understood his predicament, he would have had the sense to bite her wrist to suck out as much blood as he could take—a way to grab immortality for himself. But Willow and Elouise were careful who they invited to their after-hours sessions, spiking their victims’ drinks before the bar closed to ensure co-operation. Instead, Willow felt the blond’s back stiffening. He pushed his hips up hard against hers as his most memorable-ever orgasm ripped through him.
When Elouise’s fingers started working on her clit, Willow could feel the burgeoning pleasure of her own orgasm on the horizon. A divine throb that would spread through every nerve and muscle of her body, building and intensifying until she surrendered completely… But on the verge of surrender, a loud splintering crack pulled her back from the brink.
“What the fuck?”
She grabbed Elouise by her short peroxide hair to yank her off the man’s neck. Elouise shrieked, turning to her with a look of fury.
“There’s someone here,” said Willow as Elouise’s anger turned to shock—followed closely by fear.
Together they tumbled off the banquette, leaving the semi-comatose man to slump over to one side, his blood soaking invisibly into the red velvet upholstery.
“It can’t be Etienne, can it?” said Willow, dragging on her shorts.
Elouise shook her head.
“No one can wake Etienne from the dead but you or I.”
But the splintering noise continued, followed by shouts as the outer door gave way and crashed back against the wall. Willow ran to the bar and grabbed a bottle to defend herself with. As she turned back, the inner door burst open. Dark figures poured into the room, but in the flickering candlelight Willow could see the glint of metal. The men were armed with guns and blades. One of them carried a silver stake, making her blood run cold. She backed up until she stood next to Elouise, pressed against the bar.
“There’s no money here,” said Elouise. Her mouth and chin were still red with blood.
Her voice held steady but only because she thought they were being robbed. If she’d seen the stake, Willow knew there would have been a tremor of fear. She grasped Elouise’s wrist. Elouise glanced at her.
“They’re not here for cash.” She nodded toward the man with the stake.
Elouise gasped.
“Very perceptive.” The speaker towered over them, his close-cropped silver hair and shorn black beard making his age hard to determine. “Elouise?”
Elouise’s head jerked up like a puppet on a string.
“Take her,” he barked.
Four men had piled through the door behind him. From their eyes and their demeanor Willow felt sure they were all vampires. With the leader in the center, they stepped forward in unison, guns and machetes raised as they closed in.

EXCERPT

“I and my staff have already done fairly thorough background checks on all the museum employees,” Ted said.
“Oh.” Kara scowled. “I’m not sure I like that.”
“But you expected it?”
“Of course. At some point.”
“I believe in being efficient. Even before certain added incentives.”
“I can always change my mind. I don’t know a thing about you.”
“You know enough. I have large hands.” Ted chuckled when she winced. “I’ve worked for the Upper Midwest Arts Council for five years.”
“And before that?”
“I was a Chicago cop.”
“Oh.”
“I went into the army right out of high school and completed my BA degree at U.I.C. while on the force. Funny, isn’t it? While you were working on your MA at the University of Chicago, I was patrolling the streets of Hyde Park and South Chicago.”
“Really?”
“That’s right.”
“Maybe we bumped into each other.”
“I highly doubt that. I wouldn’t forget bumping into you. Remember?”
“Oh, right.” Kara’s flush returned.

Bad Boy Menage and Bye For Now

Hieeee everybody! That was an especially enthusiastic greeting because, as of tomorrow, I am on vacation. That's right--I'm blowing this Popsicle stand commonly known as "the internet" and trading up for a week in the woods. And, let me tell you, I can't wait! Sweet's taking care of the cats, bless her, and she's already looking after someone else's dog, so looks like she'll have a veritable menagerie on her hands. Shout out to my great girlfriend!

And another shout out to a new anthology I happen to have a story in that just came out today and is the book of the day and is on sale:

Bad boys are irresistible; insert one into menage...well the results are indredibly sexy! Bad Boy Menage is one hot sexy story after another, with an even sexier bad boy to drool over. Starting with Nicole Wilder's The Bounty and ending with Kimber Vale's Carrie's and Bridget's Bucket List, this anthology will be more bad boys than you can handle in the very best way!

#MySexySaturday with Burlesque Beauties

It's Week 50 of My Sexy Saturday and I'm showcasing seven paragraphs from my new lesbian historical romance short, Burlesque Beauties:

“Orchid!” Petra’s voice. Unmistakeable. The girl ran across the stretch of land, wrapped in a satin robe. Panting with exertion, she asked, “Hey, where’s the fire? You ran out on my striptease!”

“I’m sorry, sweetums.” That was all Orchid could muster. In Petra’s eyes, she saw worry and not anger. She couldn’t help but wonder how long that sentiment would last. “Only, it’s hard not to feel jealous when the woman I love is showing her wares to a group of grubby old jerks.”

“They’re not all grubby,” Petra said. “And they’re not all old. But I take your point.”

Orchid let out a heavy sigh. It seemed illogical for a former burlesque dancer to feel such indignation toward a current one. “Say, aren’t you missing the finale?”

“I’m not in that number,” Petra said, smirking. “After the Seven Veils, I’m done like dinner.”

She was only a few years younger than Orchid, yet she had the vibrancy of a woman who’d led a peaceful and open life. Orchid’s past was tainted by secrets and shame, being cast out of the religious commune of her early years for loving another girl. “Madame would be irate if she caught you out here dressed like that.”

Petra shrugged. Facing Orchid and the silent sea, she untied her belt and opened her robe. The very second Orchid caught sight of her lover’s bare breasts, her knees buckled yet again. She hobbled to the old willow tree, which clung to the cliff’s edge like a desperate thing, wanting life though death would be infinitely easier. She looked out across the ocean: the blue sky with its showy cotton clouds, darker water peaked with slow white waves. Nature seemed such a reliable force, and yet, to Orchid, her own nature struck her as invariably changeable. She couldn’t settle on one emotion if five were at hand.

Forbidden Folk
A Polyamorous Romance Novelette
by Giselle Renarde

When Winter Green’s estranged mother dies, the two remaining members of her folk trio plead with Winter to come on tour. No way! Winter grew up on a tour bus. She’s got a different life now. She can’t go back.

She can never go back.

But Steven and Virginia hold one secret nobody else knows: the true identity of Winter’s mysterious father. Will her desire to meet him be enough to bring her back to the folk music fold? Or will it take forbidden love for her late mother’s bandmates to convince Winter to return to the life she fled at fifteen?

An erotic novelette from award-winning author Giselle Renarde.

Excerpt:

“Steven?” I asked.

His hand still cocooned mine. “Yes, Winter?”

“Did you ever think about…?”

He turned onto his side, so his chest was so close it grazed my tender nipples. When he spoke, I felt his breath against my lips. “Think about what, Winter?”

I couldn’t ignore the throb between my legs. I couldn’t fight it any longer. I barely had to move to kiss him, and that’s just what I did. Or did he kiss me? We moved for each other’s mouths simultaneously, opening to one another. His tongue swept mine into a frenzy as we gave in to the desire my mother had forbidden.

She must be spinning in her grave.

Burlesque Beauties: Lesbian Historical Romance

If I've neglected my blog lately, that's because I've been hard at work writing new books and getting them to market. I've missed talking to you, if that means anything. Hope it does.

Anyhoo, I'm here to announce a new ebook!  "Burlesque Beauties" is a short lesbian historical romance that picks up about a year after my novella "A Little Burlesque" leaves off.  If you're looking for a happy little beach read (that features some sweet lesbian sex on the beach!), Burlesque Beauties is the book for you:

Orchid lives in a small cabin behind Madame Mireille's big burlesque house. There's barely room enough for herself, let alone her growing daughter. Ginger is in a similar situation, living with her young son Roger on Madame's seaside estate. It's been more than a year since Orchid has worked, and she's sincerely indebted to Madame, but she can't live in such cramped quarters much longer.

When Madame Mireille takes the children for a car trip, Orchid catches a saucy burlesque performance… but the sight of her lover Petra dancing for all those leering "jerks" and holidaymakers makes her jealous beyond belief. Perhaps Petra will join her by the seaside to remind her there are certain things the burlesque beauties only do for each other?

But what about Orchid and Ginger's housing situation? They can't bring themselves to ask Madame for more space. Can precious Petra find a solution?

Excerpt:

“What’s the special occasion?” Orchid asked.

“No special occasion,” Madame replied as she snuck up on young Roger. Tickling the child, she said, “I just thought this little monster might like an iced cream from his Auntie Mireille!”

Roger squealed, hopping from Orchid’s lap into Madame’s arms, hugging her tight around the neck as she kissed his winsome head.

“Who will take care of the front if you’re gone?” Orchid asked. “And the money side?” Setting Roger down, Mireille took Annabel from Ginger. “Sally’s got a handle on the money and such, though perhaps you could give her a hand at the start. In truth, Orchid, I need you to watch the show once or twice before you start performing again. We’ve made a few changes since you last took to the stage, and I want you up to speed.”

Orchid hesitated. Annabel was sleeping now, and Ginger fixing her basket for travel. The kids did love going out in that Pontiac Pathfinder Deluxe. Madame had bought it on a trip to Montreal, and driven all the way home to the Maritimes. Orchid couldn’t imagine the sea air did that motor any favours, though. She worried it would conk out in the middle of nowhere, but the trips always soothed Annabel, and she couldn’t bear to deny her child anything of this world. Bad enough her little girl was growing up without a father.

“Thank you,” she said to Madame, kissing her baby’s bonnet before Mireille made off with the little ones. With a heaving sigh, Orchid turned to Ginger and shrugged.

“It’s nice of her and all, but every time Annabel’s out of my sight I feel as though a piece of me were missing.”

“I know the feeling all too well.” Ginger took on a wicked grin and approached Orchid slowly, deliberately. Her eyes were so dark with desire there was no question what she had in mind. “It’s certainly been a while since we were alone together—no tykes, just…”

“Yes, indeed,” Orchid agreed with a nervous chuckle. She backed up against the door of her one-room cottage, glancing quickly at the clock. “Oh, what a shame! It’s time for you to get ready for your matinee.”

Ginger loomed large, licking her lips like she could devour Orchid in one gulp. Her breath was so heavy, so laboured, that Orchid felt dizzied just standing there against the door. A year ago, she’d have jumped at any opportunity for Sapphic pleasure, but that was before she’d encountered Petra. Everything was different now.

Purple

I want to scrawl this down as fast as humanly possible.

At the moment, I'm listening to a radio interview with an amazing 15-year-old pianist named Jonah Davids. Actually, I lie. At the moment, I'm listening to his rendition of Sting's Roxanne. And it's awesome

But the reason I rushed right over to my blog to tell you all about it is that Jonah has been diagnosed with clinical depression. That hits home with me, as you probably know.  As a result, he's been working with a charity called the jack project:

This charity is dedicated to bringing mental health problems like depression out of the darkness, and engaging young people to better care for themselves and support their peers.

If you want to buy Jonah Davids' new album, Purple, TOO BAD! You can't.  But you can download it free on his website.  All he asks is that you donate to the jack project in lieu of paying for his album.

Okay, internet, I think humanity's going to be okay. Because there are kids like this in the world.  I'm choking back tears as I write this, because I'm so moved by this brilliant young pianist/composer's generosity.

Access his album and more information here: http://jonahdavids.bandcamp.com/album/purple

The Hit Parade, but for books...

It's July, and you know what that means: I tell you which print books sold best in June.  If you like data (as I do) or have some perverse, obsessive interest in my sales stats (as I also do), keep reading!

Well, well... we had a 5-way tie this month.  In no particular order, here are June's Giselle Renarde bestsellers:

ISBN-10: 1499730659
BISAC: Fiction / Coming of Age
Late nights by a roaring fire, star-gazing with the cute park ranger, lazing around the balmy beach—sounds like a perfect summer vacation, doesn’t it? Cherry loves camping so much she doesn’t even mind spending a week with her nosy parents. Anyway, camping is kind of their family tradition.

That’s why Cherry’s so upset when her father invites his recently-divorced friend, Phil, along. A geeky guest intruding on their family vacation? Not fair!

But when Phil arrives at the campground… WOW! Was he always so cool? No, definitely not. When she was younger, Phil had been just another dorky dad. Now he’s stylish and fun and even pretty hunky! Divorce suits him nicely, as far as Cherry’s concerned.

Phil is the last man in the world who should be turning Cherry’s head, but the fact that their love is forbidden makes it that much tastier. The forest isn’t big enough to keep two lovelorn people apart… even if they’re totally wrong for each other.

This book contains scenes some readers may find offensive. It is intended for mature audiences only.
